Join us for the unveiling of a cast bronze plaque dedicated to the memory and art of the late Alice C. Sabatini. The plaque will include changeable bronze relief plates with six of Alice’s drawings. The plates will change periodically. Visitors can make rubbings of the drawings to take home.Read an interview with the designer of the plaque, local artist Janet Zoble. The public reception is Saturday, February 28 at 2 pm at the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery, Topeka and Shawnee County Library, 1515 SW 10th Ave. Alice C. Sabatini (1931-1997) was a beloved educator, artist, designer, illustrator, philanthropist and children’s advocate. Over many years, Alice worked closely with Gary K. Clarke when he was the director of the World Famous Topeka Zoo. Alice drew the zoo’s animals and her images were used for zoo publicity.
