Grand Opening of Claire's Courtyard happened Tuesday, October 8, 2019 with a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m.
Gathering on the Courtyard began at 10:00 a.m. with music by The Studio String Quartet. Visitors were able to tour the Sunroom, sit on the patio, listen to the Courtyard fountain and view all the bricks that were purchased and inscribed. Claire's Courtyard is funded by The Library Foundation by a generous gift from Glenn Swogger Jr., MD, as a tribute to his late wife Claire.
The open house also included tours of the new Learning Center and Plaza lobby. The Learning Center offers opportunities to learn through play with technology classes, art activities, games, creativity experiences and book discussions. The Plaza features browsing for best sellers and the latest movies in addition to the customer service desk, copy center and checkout kiosks.
